Passion Runner donates his shoes today at Mizuno Run

Posted in inspirational, running events on March 30, 2008 by Passion Runner

Today at the Mizuno run, I donated my shoes to a person who needs it more than I do.This is in response to the BaldRunners call for used and/or old shoes. (See article here or at thebullrunner’s site)

I was inspired right after reading the article. So I looked in my closet for old running shoes. I have several so I just grabbed one. I gave away my Nike Air Max… I think it’s about 3 or 4 years old. With everything that is going on around us, with all the issues that crop up left and right, we can’t just stand still. We need to go out and speak out our minds. Things don’t have to be complicated. It starts with simple statements that we want to achieve. It is not complaining about who did this, what went wrong or whose fault it is. It is about saying in the simplest terms possible what it is that YOU want, for YOURSELF, for OTHERS, or for this NATION. Read more »

Please give comments on how to make it look better or if you want to see something else. Also, I’m still looking for a good tagline. The one on top is kinda cheesy. Hehe

With everything that we do, the hardest step is usually the first. Once we’ve started or get our minds to it, usually, we can’t stop ourselves. Runners know that it is difficult to get back into shape after being inactive for long periods of time. In fact, for me, not running for a week is already does a lot to my endurance, what more two weeks, or worse, a month!

Deciding to make that first step is usually the most difficult. It is like getting out of bed, especially when the it’s cold and your all comfortable under the covers and you just want to roll all over before finally getting up (or maybe that’s just me!). One you get out of bed and start to get ready for school, or work or to do whatever it is you need to do, you usually go on auto-pilot right after. Read more »
