The human bumper sticker…

Posted in RFC ideology, Run for Change with tags , , on April 2, 2008 by Passion Runner
What is the #1 thing you see on all road races? I mean… unless you’re #1 all the way, it is inevitable that you will see backs! Yes, backs… as in likod. Think of Run for Change as your human bumper sticker. Wouldn’t it be nice or fun to be able to read statements placed at people’s backs? I mean, it can be anything… a simple statement, a joke or a funny line, or what. There is just one restriction… the statement has to be a positive one or something that lifts your spirits.

On Wrist Bands

Posted in RFC ideology, ramblings with tags , , , , on April 2, 2008 by Passion Runner

My wrist bands These are my wrist bands. The white wrist band was given to me by Bald Runner when I donated my shoes for his shoe donation program. It is a “ONE” wristband that stands for poverty eradication around the globe (More on http://www.one.org). The other… well… haha! It’s a piece of string. The kind that you get when you make the halfway mark on road races. Usually, they give out plastic straw (either in green or pink or yellow). What I do is that I run it around my wrists so that it doesn’t hang and since I also don’t like putting it around my neck. I feel like I’d get strangled or something. Read more »

To infinity and beyond! – Mizuno Infity Race

Posted in RFC ideology, ramblings, running events with tags , , , on April 1, 2008 by Passion Runner

As I was going through the different blogs, yahoogroups, and other running sites, I can’t help but notice that people really have very strong words against the Race organizers of the Mizuno Infinity Race. A lot of people were really peeved over the whole NO WATER issue.Well, I’d have to admit, it was really bad, but then again… in line with this blog’s objective of trying to promote a positive attitude, let’s see how we can take a more positive look at the whole issue.

  1. The runners realized that they could run without water.
  2. People were pushed to their limits.
  3.  They got out of the heat ASAP (to look for water).
  4. They now have something to talk about. (ie. Did you hear about what happened at the Mizuno race?!)
  5. They now have a memorable experience to tell other people about. (ie. Unimaginable! I lasted running 5km (or 10km, or 15km) without water!)

Are there other nice things you can possibly think of about the Mizuno InfinityRace? Post them here :)

Looking at my “about me” page… the Mizuno Infinity Run really exemplified my statement…“Whatever route you take and no matter how long it would take you, you will always end up there.” Considering that there were people who got lost, who ended up running longer or what… there is one thing that is common to all the runners… At least they crossed that finished line. I think that’s what matters in any race, good or not, well-organized or not, with water or without.

Common people… Start making that change :D

As I have mentioned before, the change that I’m (di pwedeng “we” since wala pa ako kasama sa movement na ‘to… hehe) looking for can be an individual change or a change that you seek for the country or perhaps a change you wish for someone else.Let me be the first to post my CHANGE STORY. Read more »
