This video clip reminds me of the Vertical Run held in Makati City Hall last year… I wanted to join but it coincided with another event I had already registered for. I wonder if they’ll do it again?

Eating Right for the New Year

Most of us forgot about training the holidays and went ahead enjoying the scrumptious food that was on the table. Calories and calories of food, rich with so many unwanted things like fat, salt or sugar.

As part of my new years re-resolution (since I’ve done it before but was just led astray), I’m going back to eating right and eating healthy.

MOVIE: Run, Fatboy, Run (2007)

I’ve been looking for movies to download the past months and as I was browsing through Mininova, I came across a movie with a peculiar title, “Run Fatboy Run!” It’s a 2007 movie, so over a year old I guess.

For those who are training for the marathon or serious runners out there, you’ll surely get your dose of laughter with this film! Imagine, 2 weeks to train for a marathon, his first one at that… CRAZY! It also touches on some topics that only runners can relate to such as nipple, inner thigh and underarm chaffing, using petroleum jelly, wearing skimpy shorts and a whole lot of other stuff. I suggest you watch this for a lighter side of the sport

Father and Son Ironman duo

A son asked his father, ‘Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?’. The father who, despite having a heart condition, says ‘Yes’. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying ‘Yes’ to his son’s request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, ‘Dad, let’s join the Ironman together.’ To which, his father said ‘Yes’ too. For those who don’t know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

Father and son went on to complete the race together.

BaldRunner posted an entry before about the CamelBak (Hands-Free Hydration System) and I thought of getting myself one of those… up until I saw this news clip. It makes so much sense! What do you think?
